The atelier is a place to experiment with symbols, emotions and creativity. Attention focuses on the creative process rather than on the end result so no previous knowledge of painting is required.
The Mal-Leiterin/Begleiterin acts as a facilitator enabling a free and intimate approach to painting within one’s own creative individuality. Offering her supportive guidance, the Mal-Leiterin/Begleiterin encourages the painter in his/her unique creative process: she assists (begleiten) and leads (leiten) and is the accompanist and the tutor at the same time.
In the middle of the atelier is the colour palette with its thick brightly coloured paints. Painting is done on large sheets of paper against a wall, with brushes as well as with hands and fingers. Over time the wall itself gets covered with coloured marks, the evidence of past pictures.
